Taster Sessions

During the Summer, Manchester Handball Club ran taster sessions so that you could join in and try your hand at handball! We will also be running 2 more taster sessions in association with the University of Manchester Handball Club for University students at the end of September and beginning of November. Check the poster below for details! Don't worry if you aren't able to make it, you can still join us at one of our regular weekly training sessions. Please check out the training page for more info.

Frequently Asked Questions

I've never played before and am not sure if I'll be any good - can I still come?

Of course! We welcome all ages and abilities, and currently have players who come from a variety of backgrounds with widely varying skill levels. Everyone's friendly and welcoming, so why not give it a try and see what you think?

If you've played sports like basketball, netball, rugby or any other team sports before then you'll already have many of the skills and abilities for being great at handball. And even if you haven't, handball is a great sport to learn and improve quickly in!

Can I bring a friend?

You can bring as many friends as you like, or come alone if you wish! Taster sessions are run in large groups.

Is there anywhere to park?

Sugden Sports Centre provides free parking for anyone with a disabled badge. Parking is also available for free on Grosvenor Street outside the Centre. There are also a number of pay and display car parks nearby.

What do I need to bring?

You just need to wear clothing that's appropriate for playing on an indoor court, and we recommend that you bring a bottle of water!

Does it cost anything?

We ask that you bring a small fee of £1 per session to help cover the cost of the hall.

OK, I've decided I'm coming! Where are you?
